I'm Taking the CBEST Tomorrow...

(It's been so long that I think I almost forgot how to blog.)

I'm taking the CBEST tomorrow so I've been studying like crazy this past week. (CBEST is an acronym for California Basic Education Skills Test.) It basically tests your reading, writing, and math skills. Anyone who wants to get into a credential program or be a substitute teacher in the state of California needs to pass this test.
(Since I am undecided about whether I want to get into a credential program, I'm taking the CBEST in order to get a substitute teaching permit. For now...)

I really should have taken it a long time ago and some people even take it right after high school, but I have this intense fear of math, and the last time I had a math class was 9 years ago.

I only had to take 1 math class my whole college career and I was happy about that.
When my major was Liberal Studies, I was going to have to take 3 upper division math classes, but after I changed my major to English, I found out that I had already completed my math requirements.
(Wheeew I dodged that bullet...)

So here I am with my test prep book, trying to solve algebraic equations, find the distance from point A to point B, and trying to remember what prime numbers are; all while Michael is trying to steal my pen and scribble in my book.

My mantra for the day: I will not get stressed out. I will not get stressed out...

you'll be ok. it wasn't that hard & the good thing about the CBEST is that you just have to pass it OVERALL. when i took it i hadn't had a math class in a while, and i passed...so i'm sure you did FINE. the REAL test is the CSET..those can be grueling.
